ALIPA

MOON OF CEPI

Alipa is a moon of cepi. This small moon is possibly an unknown asteroid that was sucked into the orbit of Cepi, becoming one of its many moons. The fast orbit slowly rips the moon apart, making it near impossible to know the exact extent of the surface. Within the moon’s nearly circular ring is an exceedingly faint 3-kilometer-long bright region. Alipa has a bluish speck this speck is a vast cloud of hydrogen that is being rapidly swallowed by Cepi’s rotation.

The violent rotation literally is pulling in the hydrogen by gravity and obliterating its bright nature. Pieces of its core are being pulled and sucked out into the vastness of space. These small pieces of the moon are now in a very fast-moving orbit. This is what makes Alipa so rare because it is the only known object in a fast orbit around a planet. In fact, it is the only known object spinning this fast within Vela Sirius.

Due to its fast orbit, the effects can be felt on Cepi's tides. The small pieces of Alipas core can also be seen streaking through Cepi's sky on occasion.
